Higher steel prices have us all scratching our heads. Steel prices will shoot up in the short term due to supply shortages stemming from the United States Section 232 tariffs. U.S. & Canadian rebar pricing is up approximately 29% over the last 12 months.
Domestic mill lead times are now out to May or June. There is definitely a shortage of steel & mill sources indicate it will only get tighter as our construction season opens up.
Volume buyers attempting to stay ahead of these monthly increases are advised to contact Alex, Chris or Sebastian to secure best rebar prices. (780.452.1894)
